Taiwan: between a rock and a hard place, or shall we say, between the devil and the deep blue sea.
I say between the 2 devils let's get rid of the smaller one first. It's easier. Moreover it's the closer and more immediate danger.

You don't need me to point out who the smaller devil is that presents a more immediate threat to the democratic system, harmony, and security of Taiwan.
