79歲的鮑布狄倫最近發表了新曲 “Murder Most Foul”

你可說那是有樂曲伴奏的誦讀陳述加感嘆
又或是有背景音樂襯托的迷你史詩

其實他就是民謠一首風格獨特的民謠

歌詞大量抽取利用了美國過去四分之三個世紀的流行文化中的人名地名歌名片名以作為引申明喻隱喻
當然也有許多直述

歌名本身即取自同名的電影

但你也不必非常孰悉美國流行文化才能領會狄倫想表達的東西

歌中提到的 Beatles 與 Patsy Cline 都是我特別喜歡的搖滾樂團及鄉村樂歌手
另外提到的Trinity River也是若干年前我在達拉斯每星期開車去乒乓球俱樂部打球時必經過的河流
