Alex and Sonja are returning from a trip abroad, and they have just collected their luggage.

A Alex　　S Sonja　　C Customs Officer

A：I can't believe it took so long to get through immigration.

S：Well, it's a busy travel season.

A：Which customs channel do we need to go through？

S：The US has only one channel. It's this way.

( A Customs officer waves them forward. )

C：May I see your customs card and passports, please？

S：Sure. Here you go. ( She hands him the documents. )

C：Do you have anything to declare？

S：We bought some presents, but nothing too expensive. The total is under $400.

C：Well, that is under the duty-free exemption amount, so you're OK. May I inspect your luggage？

A：Sure, go ahead.

( A few minutes later, the customs officer is holding two pineapples. )

C：Sir, you're not allowed to bring agricultural products into the US without the proper froms and approval.

A：They're just pineapples!! I bought them for my sister.

C：I'm going to have to confiscate the fruit, sir

( He puts the pineapples to the side and picks up a bottle from the open bag. )

C：What is this？

S：That's my medication. I have a prescription for it in that pocket there.

C：( Looking ) That's fine. Just be more careful about fruit on your future trips.

S：We will, officer.

艾利克斯和頌亞正從一趟海外之旅回來，他們剛領完行李

艾利克斯：我不敢相信入境要花這麼長的時間

　　頌亞：喔，現在是旅遊旺季

艾利克斯：我們需要通過哪種海關通道

　　頌亞：美國只有一種通道，往這邊走

(一名海關官員招手要他們前進)

海關官員：請問我可以看看你們的海關卡和護照嗎？

　　頌亞：當然，在這裡 (她將文件遞給他)

海關官員：你們有任何東西要申報嗎？

　　頌亞：我們買了一些禮物，但沒什麼太貴的東西，總額在四百美元以下

海關官員：嗯，那在免稅額度以下，所以你們沒問題，我可以檢查你們的行李嗎？

艾利克斯：當然，請繼續

(幾分鐘過後，海關官員拿著兩顆鳳梨)

海關官員：先生，你沒有符合規定的申請表格和批准，不能帶農產品進入美國

艾利克斯：他們只是鳳梨耶！！我是要買給我妹妹的

海關官員：我必須沒收你的水果，先生

(他把鳳梨放到一旁，並從打開的包包裡拿出一個瓶子)

海關官員：這是什麼？

　　頌亞：那是我的藥，我在那個口袋裡放了一張那種藥的處方籤

海關官員：(察看)那就沒問題，只要在未來的旅途中多注意你們的水果就好

　　頌亞：我們會的，長官
