When the prince next sees Claudio, he is confused by his friend's cold behavior.

" Why are you sad？" the prince asks. " I have won Hero's heart for you! "

當王子再次見到克勞迪歐時，他對他朋友的冷淡舉止感到困惑

王子問：「你為什麼難過呢？我已經替你贏得了希洛的心了！」

" I think he's jealous, " the wise Beatrice says.

The surprised prince tells Claudio, " I have wooed her in your name. She is yours. "

Sure enough, Hero's father has agreed to hold a wedding for Hero and Caludio in a week.

聰明的碧翠斯說：「我想他是在吃醋」

驚訝的王子告訴克勞迪歐說：「我是用你的名義追求她，她屬於你」

當然，希洛的爸爸同意幫希洛和克勞迪歐在一週內舉辦婚禮

Meanwhile, the prince decides to make Benedict and Beatrice fall in love.

He chooses a place where he know Benedict will overhear him and says,

" It's so sad! Beatrice loves Benedict, but he is too proud to accept her."

At the same time, Hero and her friends are using an identical plan on Beatrice.

" Benedict loves Beatrice, but she loves herself too much to accept him."

Neither Beatrice nor Benedict wants to seem proud. " I will open my heart, " they tell themselves.

與此同時，王子定要讓班乃迪克和碧翠斯墜入愛河

他選了個他知道班乃迪克會無意間聽到他聲音的地方說

「真令人難過！碧翠斯深愛著班乃迪克，但是他太高傲了，不肯接受他的愛」

同時間，希洛和她的朋友也在對碧翠斯使用同樣的技倆

「班乃迪克深愛著碧翠斯，但她太自戀而不肯接受他的愛」

班乃迪克和碧翠斯兩人都不想顯得高傲，他們對自己說：「我要敞開心胸」

Don John is also making plans. His servant lures a maid who looks like Hero to the bedroom window and kisses her.

As this happens, Don John brings the prince and Caludio. " Is that Hero kissing another man？"Don John asks Claudio.

Both the prince and Claudio are very angry, and they plan to make Hero pay.

唐約翰也在訂計畫，他的僕人誘惑了長相像希洛的女僕，把她帶到臥房窗戶邊吻了她

關鍵解析

1. too....to V. 太....而不能做某事

要表示「某人事物太.....而不能做某事；.....到無法做某事」，可用以下句型：

S. + V. + too + Adj. / Adv. + to V.

‧If you are too tried to walk home,we can take a bus.

　如果你累到無法走回家，我們可以搭公車

‧There wad too much smoke through, so we didn't know what was burning.

　煙大到看不穿，所以我們不知道是什麼東西在燃燒

2. seem 的用法

seem可表示「看來好像；似乎」，常用句型有：

S. + seem + to V. = 某人事物似乎做某事

S. + seem + Adj. = 某人事物看起來好像....

‧The glass seemed to move by itself on the table.

　那個玻璃杯好像自己在桌子上移動起來

‧Roger seemed angry, but Amber told me that he is really just feeling sick.

　羅傑好像在生氣，但安柏告訴我他其實只是覺得很不舒服

以上句型也可改用it當虛主詞，形成：

It seems that + S. + V.

‧It seems that people are very excited about the new product.

　人們似乎對那個新產品感到很興奮
