C：Can I help you carry those？
J：Thanks!
C：Is it still raining cats and dogs？ I hope the weather clears up soon.
J：Didn't you here？ A typhoon is supposed to hit tonight. I bought thses groceries to get ready for it.
C：I've never been in a typhoon before, but it can't be that bad.
J：Yes, it can. The power could go out, and we could be without water for a week.
C：It's really that serious？
J：Sometimes. I know you weren't in Taiwan for Typhoon Morakot last year, but it was terrible.
More than 600 people were killed in the mudilides and flooding.
C：Now I'm really nervous!
J：If you prepare carefully, you won't need to worry.
C：I suppose I should have somedrinking water and food.
J：Yes. Make sure the food and doesn't need to be cooked. Take this. (She hands him a flashlight.)
C：I guess I'll need this if the power foes out.
J：You should also tape your windows. If you want, I can come over and help.
C：I'd really appreciate that. I guess it's better to be safe than sorry.
